As a Catholic School, Religious Education forms a vital part of our curriculum.

We believe that there should be a strong bond between parish, school and the parent community.

Our program aims to develop each child's knowledge and awareness of the Catholic Faith and its values. Links are made between the Religious Education content studied throughout the year and the learning of students in other curriculum areas, and importantly with how faith can be enacted outside the classroom. An important part of the children’s learning is their preparation for the Sacraments. Currently, children in Grade 3 celebrate their First Reconciliation, children in Grade 4 celebrate their First Eucharist and Confirmation is celebrated by our Grade 5 and 6 children every second year.

We realise that many parents may not have had much to do with the Church, possibly since they were at school themselves. And whilst many of those parents may seek a Catholic education for their child, it could be a daunting thing to be expected to be ‘experts’ in their child’s Catholic Faith. If that is your situation, be assured that we aim to provide support for you in your role as your child’s primary educator. We offer parent nights in preparation for the Sacraments and we also provide an insight into the type of Faith learning your child will have at school by running sessions for families with children in the early years (‘Preps in PJs’ & ‘Juniors in Jamas’). You can be sure that we are here to support you on your journey.
