Congratulations to Aislinn  (5/6H) who competed in the Zone cross-country running race at a very soggy Bundoora Park on Wednesday after winning our District event last month. The zone event had the best runners from about 70 schools in our area competing.  Aislinn’s 8th place sees her qualify for the Regional cross-country event when she will compete against the elite runners from about 300 schools in the North of Melbourne. We wish her well in her tough competition next week.

Congratulations to Henry  (5/6OP) who has been selected to represent Victoria in the ‘School Sport Australian Football Championships’ which will be held in Maroochydore,   Queensland from July 23 – 30.  Making the team of 23 of the best Primary School footballers from across the state is a wonderful achievement that has seen Henry successfully compete in a number of selection trials since March.   Mr P has reliably informed me that our two most recent ex-students to make the AFL – David Zaharakis and Marcus Bontempelli – were both unsuccessful in their efforts to make the Victorian Primary School football team when they were in Grade 6, which highlights the magnitude of Henry’s achievement. We wish him well when he represents Victoria next month.
