At Our Lady Help of Christians, we understand the importance of supporting our families beyond the school day. That’s why we are proud to announce that, starting Term 1, 2025, we will offer high-quality Before and After School Care on-site, provided by MACSEYE, a trusted service established by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS).

Why This Service Benefits Our Families

A Service That Reflects Our Values

MACSEYE shares our commitment to helping every child and family flourish. Their programs are designed to support each child’s growth, wellbeing, and identity, reflecting the same values that underpin our school community.

We are thrilled to provide this additional support for our families, ensuring that OLHC continues to be a place where both children and families thrive.

Uniform

OLHC-ELTHAM-OCT_24-190.jpg

At Our Lady Help of Christians (OLHC), we believe that a consistent school uniform plays a vital role in fostering a cohesive and focused learning environment. Uniforms help to minimise socioeconomic disparities among students, promoting equality and reducing peer pressure related to attire.

By wearing the OLHC uniform, students develop a sense of belonging and school pride, which enhances their connection to our community. Uniforms also simplify daily routines, allowing students to concentrate more on their education rather than on clothing choices.

We are committed to ensuring that our uniform policy is affordable and accessible to all families, avoiding unreasonable financial burdens.

For detailed information on uniform expectations, please refer to our Uniform Policy.

Buddies

At Our Lady Help of Christians (OLHC), our Buddy Program pairs Prep students with older peers, fostering a supportive and inclusive school community. This program is designed to build strong relationships across year levels, promoting a sense of connection and belonging for all students.

The Buddy Program helps our youngest students transition smoothly into school life, offering them guidance and encouragement as they settle into their new environment. It also provides opportunities for older students to take on leadership roles, developing a sense of responsibility, empathy, and care for others.

Buddies participate in a variety of activities that strengthen their bond and enhance their learning experiences. These include shared reading sessions that inspire a love of books, creative projects that encourage teamwork and imagination, and outdoor play that promotes physical activity and cooperation.

Through these meaningful interactions, younger students gain confidence and feel supported, while older students develop important social and leadership skills. The program reflects our commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where all students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
