We Help Each Other to Be Successful
Our Community
Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School Eltham
Our Lady Help of Christians is a welcoming and vibrant community, together we work towards building strong relationships between school, families, our Parish and our local community.

We are a community of Faith, Learning and Partnership. We are characterised by a safe environment with a supportive parent and parish community.

We value each individual within our school community and commit ourselves to assist and challenge them to realise their spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical potential.
We strive to contribute to the development of students’ sense of self-worth, enthusiasm for learning and optimism for the future.
There are many opportunities for parents to be involved with our community through an active and highly valued Parent’s and Friends of Our Lady’s and our School Advisory Council as well as parent groups and organised social activities for parents and for families.
Parish Connections
Our Lady Help of Christians is a Parish primary school, providing a Catholic education to the families of Our Lady’s, Eltham. We are privileged to have a beautiful contemporary Church that is a place of welcome and reflection.

Education in Faith is our starting point in developing the whole child. The education framework, Horizons of Hope, sees learning in our Catholic school as a journey of endless possibilities, where students are energised to seek meaning and explore questions about the world around them. At the heart of our school is the desire for the full flourishing of each of our students - their religious, physical, cognitive, emotional and social learning.
Meet Father Michael
Hello Everyone,
Students, Parents, Staff and Friends of Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School in Eltham.
My name is Michael Sierakowski and I along with Terry Kean, are the two Catholic Priests in this area. We hope to see and welcome you as part of this wonderful school community from time to time and want you to know that you are always welcome to be a part of our Catholic community, celebrating life achievements in our ‘Number One Classroom’.
Our beautiful and modern Church is located on the opposite side of the school in Henry street and together with our school community we will have lots of opportunities to celebrate our spiritual life linked to Jesus Christ.
Naturally, I hope to journey with you all during these amazing years ahead and certainly support and pray with you each time we gather.
Warmest thoughts & prayers for you and your families,
Michael Sierakowski
School Advisory Board
The School Advisory Council is an advisory team made up of the Parish Priest, the School Principal, appointed parents of the school and a staff representative. The team meets twice each term and discusses issues which relate to the running and the planning of the school. While decisions relating to the running of the school are the concern of the Principal, the School Advisory Council plays an important advisory role which will often support the decision-making process.

Parents' and Friends of Our Ladies (PFOL)
The Parents and Friends Association (PFOL) is a body of parents/carers who voluntarily work in partnership with staff to enhance the lives of our students. The PFOL offers an opportunity for parents and carers to become involved in the life of the school, providing opportunities for the development of community spirit among the staff and parent body.

The Parents and Friends Association provide support for the school in areas such as:
• Social functions for the school community
• Fundraising for projects and resources that are not otherwise financed.
Everyone is very welcome to become actively involved with the PFOL.

Communication
As part of Our Lady’s commitment to streamline process, reduce paper waste throughout our school and improve communication between home and school, we use the following apps:
Operoo
Operoo has an innovative parent controlled electronic medical form for schools, clubs and other groups with a duty of care to children. It’s an electronic version of the paper based forms you’re always having to fill in for excursions, camps, enrolments, etc. It provides you the opportunity to update your child’s medical information promptly and accurately while providing the school with instant access to the most current emergency information provided by you.
